Zane's Tongue

Zane was being a billy goat and decided to climb on the kid's bed. I'm not sure if he was climbing the ladder or just climbing on the bottom bunk, but apparently he fell head first. When I heard him screaming, I went running and scooped him up off the floor. To my horror, blood was gushing out of his mouth. We could not figure out where all the blood was coming from. I put him to bed once he calmed down. It wasn't until the next morning that my mom and I noticed that his top front two teeth were chipped. Then a little later, I noticed his tongue had a huge gash in it. He had bitten his tongue and chipped his teeth in the process. Every time I looked at him, I just wanted to cry. We're thinking that if he had a full set of teeth he would have bit his tongue all the way off! My poor baby has sure had a rough go. I took him to the doctor Friday for suspected ear infections (for literally the 10th time in 13 months) and sure enough he had double ear infections. The doctor said his tongue would be fine. We do have an appointment Wednesday with an Ear Nose and Throat doctor to schedule surgery to have tubes put in. The antibiotic they gave him this go 'round is giving him the runs. He also has eczema and psoriasis. He just doesn't know what it's like to feel good. Well, hopefully he will when the surgery is over.

Olivia's School Talent Show May 1, 2009

Olivia sang the new 2009 Primary song "My Eternal Family" for her school talent show Friday. The first time around, she kinda forgot the words, so the sound man started her over and she did a great job the second time around. You'll have to turn off my playlist to listen to her. Pigtails and Crewcuts

I took Zane to a place called "Pigtails & Crewcuts" for his first professional haircut. I have always cut the kids' hair (until about a year ago), I guess I decided that I didn't want them looking like little dorks anymore. It's so hard when they won't sit still. Wouldn't you know, when I take them somewhere they don't move a muscle!

The pictures are out of order, it's the after shot, then the before shot. Zane was thinking he was looking pretty sexy, so he had to use his "bedroom eyes". His new haircut is very versatile. I can give him a fauxhawk, spiked-in-front look or spiked allover look. Either way, he's just adorable. Am I right, or am I right?

Erie, isn't it?

The kids put in an old Little Rascal video a couple of nights ago, and I was shocked to see my baby boy on screen. Zane looks so much like "Spanky" we've decided to change his name to "Zaneky".

Loren and Jon's wedding cake

What a week! We left for St. Louis last Sunday. Came home Tuesday evening. The kids went to gymnastics, Sveta went to Mutual. Wednesday was laundry and Thursday I worked on the cake...Here it is.

Svetlana's first prom

Sveta decided Friday morning that she would go to the church prom. A lot of us had been trying to get her to go, and on Friday when I mentioned it she didn't argue with me (for once) so I took that to mean that she really did want to go. So we drove around town looking for a dress. We found this great little flea market and bought her this dress for $9.95. Then we bought the necklace, earrings and ring for $3.00 and the shoes for $19.99. Her entire outfit was less than 40 bucks! Then on Saturday, she babysat all day and cleaned both bathrooms and the microwave (which was pretty gross), on top of all the stuff she aldready does for me. I had some people from church lined up to take her to the dance, they thought that it started at 7, but it started at 6. They didn't come to pick her up until almost 8, so she only got to be at the dance for an hour but she said she had a good time.

Then, Saturday morning I found this cute little jacket at a garage sale, it was too late to wear it to the prom, but she wore it to church Sunday.

She leaves tonight to go to Arizona with her mom, so I'm kind of sad. I'm really going to miss her!

Easter 2009

This is me and my guy Easter morning. Gwen and Gary bought Zane this suit for his birthday. I guess it's his birthday suit!
I bought Noah his first suit. I got it at JC Penneys on clearance for 7.95, Olivia's dress is from Talbots, but I paid like 12 bucks for it. Look at me, I'm so frugal!
