Before...

Noah caught this picture of Zane grinning from ear to ear. We decided to have an Elmo birthday party for Zane since I turned on Sesame street and Zane was mezmerized by Elmo the other day. It was the first time he showed any interest in TV. What is it about Elmo? Happy 1st Birthday BABY ZANE.
On another note, I have to share this story, although it may not be completely appropriate. This morning Noah yelled his daily "I'm done pooping!" I went in the bathroom to wipe him (yeah I know he's four years old, but I'm not convinced he's capable of doing a thorough job wiping himself), I glanced in the toilet and said "Noah, them are big man terds" to which he replied "I squoze really hard and hurted my bottom". Sorry to those of you who are squeemish.

After...

This is what is called a "Gnome Dome", my brother bought this hat for Noah's first Christmas and lucky Zane gets all of Noah's hand-me-downs.

Me and My Kiddos

Well, I can't ever seem to catch a picture without at least one of my children scowling. This time it was Noah. Oh well, it's a good pic anyway.

Practice Cake

Okay, so I did a practice run on Loren's wedding cake. I made homemade fondant, German Chocolate cake with a german chocolate frosting center, and a buttercream frosting crumb/base coat. Then, I used clay to arrange my flowers. The ribbon on Loren's cake will be narrower and a lighter green. And of course, the actual cake will be much taller. We ate it last night and it was pretty yummy. I just got the fondant a little too thick, so I learned from my mistake and the next time I expect PERFECTION. LOL!

Do we know how to have fun or what?

Okay, one thing you have to say about Mormons is that we know how to have a good time without being chemically intoxicated. I printed these eyes off the internet, and we decided it would be fun to put them on our faces. Zane was absolutely terrified when Greg put them on (it could be the barbaric noises he was making while wearing them). We put them on Zane and he was not impressed, but we were able to keep them on him long enough to snap a photo. The second picture is me, although it is pretty hard to tell who it is. Noah wouldn't put them on, and Greg wouldn't let me get a picture of him (Olivia was at school). So that's our fun for the day. Greg said he hadn't laughed that hard in a long time. Maybe it's just that Mormons are easily amused.

Random Funny Stories

Olivia and I sang in church a few Sundays ago. I was so proud of her. She actually sang the first verse of "My Heavenly Father Loves Me" solo, she kinda forgot the words halfway through, but she did an amazing job. I sang the second verse and she sang the last few words. We walked out of the chapel and I told her how well she had done. She was so upset that she had forgotten the words so she started crying. We went to the bathroom to pull ourselves together. She didn't want to go to Primary because she thought people would make fun of her. So she skipped the first half. She got so many compliments and her ego was repaired. She finally went to class. That night she asked when we would be singing again in Sacrament. The next day she even went as far as to suggest that she and I audition for American Idol. She loved the attention she got. I'm not just being partial, she really did a great job. I'm hoping she'll grow up and make mommy lots of money.

Noah and I had gone to the store last week, and as we were loading up the van, this little girl came and stood next to me. Her mom persuaded her to come on so she walked away. Noah asked why that girl had come over to our van. I said I didn't know. He said "Maybe she was looking for a boyfriend...maybe she wanted one with brown shoes." He thinks he's quite the mack-daddy I guess. He is his father's son. Greg thinks all the ladies are checking him out, but the truth is, they are trying to figure out why he is wearing a hat that looks like it has been run over by the mower. Noah's head just looks like it got run over by the mower. He decided to do the skinhead thang again. But I think he kind of regretted it halfway through. We just had to take a picture of him as an old man. We finally convinced him to let us finish shaving it all off. Now it's been a week or so and it really doesn't look bad at all.

I just had to add a picture. This is my photo of Zane as a temple worker. I have very few pics of him without his tongue sticking out. I don't really have anything funny to say about him. He's been sick for the last week, so it hasn't been much fun around here. Now he's gotten so spoiled from being sick that he thinks he needs to be held all day long. Of all my kids I think he has the biggest temper. He throws such a fit when he doesn't get what he wants.
